Hexagram 14 · 火天大有

Great Possession

Fire · Qian palace

Abundance held well: plenty matched by responsibility.

Meaning

Fire in the sky: light at its fullest. Great Possession describes a state of real abundance, whether that means resources, recognition or capacity.

Decision Framework

Hold it well; abundance invites obligation.

Decision Guidance

Great Possession is a favourable reading, and an expansive one. It indicates that you now hold something of real value — capital, influence, opportunity, or the simple capacity to act.

The classical commentary is almost entirely about management rather than acquisition. What you hold will be tested by how you carry it: sharing appropriately, resisting the temptation to be careless with surplus, and staying clear about which of your possessions are actually yours to direct. Abundance gathered well becomes durable; abundance treated as a licence tends not to.
